We love her.  She is such a good puppy.  Her ear has already stiffened up.  She is just delightful.  We are working on getting her a trainer right now but trying to avoid the teenagers at Petsmart we can get someone good.  She is very agreeable.  She is our puppy soul mate.  We named her Vicious because she is a vicious beast in the sweetest way.  Thanks again.  Hope everything went well with the other puppies.

Barb,

Just wanted to let you know we made it and "Dakota" did great!.  she slept the whole way except for a stop at Mcdonald's and the rest area to go to the bathroom.  She loves the back yard but is not too sure of the house!  It has been a long first day for her.
Thanks again so much for everything and we'll send pictures next weekend.  Hope the show went well for you and Fez!

He was great in the car.not a peep on the way home.yesterday he stayed pretty much in the kitchen only, when we were inside.he really did not want to be inside much..wasn't use to it.so family played and ran him around the back yard a couple of times.then he was"lights out" for a couple of hours.this went on all day.i gated him in our bathroom so he could see and hear us when we went to bed.he was a sleep before i finished brushing my teeth.slept until 4am.then i put him in bed with me until 6am. he slept great. He has had more attention and smooches.he is just so stinken cute!he has to be the most photographed dog in st.louis.he learned how to up and down stairs yesterday too...big day...
thank's again barb,i'll keep you posted,
jennifer

He is practically fetching the paper..slept 3-4 hours alone and the rest of the night in bed with me.but he slept.
His cries have gone to soft, seldom whimpers and talking. He likes me with him all the time, but is tolerating my absence more and more all the time.
He is starting to venture further around the yard on his own.he's so brave.
He is, with out a doubt, starting to make the connection between all the love and praise when he goes outside to do his biz. [ he's so intelligent] He really wants to please.this is an understatement.
We are rolling into a nice little routine. more family coming to play today.
I'll keep you posted. drive safe.

Barb,

I plan to send you an even more descriptive e-mail, but Sharon and I didn't get much sleep this weekend, so forgive this short message.  I'd like to send you an e-mail, much like the one that you posted on your site from the other 'parents'.
Toge is doing great.  What surprised us was that he seemed 'house-broken' from the get-go.  That was a shocker!
We were expecting to lay down newspapers in the kitchen, but he started crying, so we took him out, and low and behold he did his thing.
I grew up with German Shepherds, and other puppies, and I've never seen this happen before.  Even our two other Akitas needed some house training.
However you managed to get Toge to understand at such a young age, is beyond me.  You should write a book on breeding and training.  No joke.
I'll write soon, and send some photos, too. Toge is going to his vet in the morning.
Thanks again, so much, for our little guy.
Ron

Barb,

His ride home was a breeze.  Not a drop from him until we got out of the car at home. Toge got to meet Nikko, and they got along great, as you can see
by the photos. We weren't sure how Nikko would react to him, but we think she's finally gotten the message that Toge will be around for the long haul.
For an older girl, Nikko is feeling some maternal instinct, or at least that's our feeling. We're still amazed how quickly Toge caught on to house breaking.
I was stocking up on newspapers for his arrival, but we haven't had to use any.  The way things are going, I'll most likely just put those papers out for recycling.
Of course, there's still the occasional 'wet mistake', but he has no problem doing his elimination outdoors.  He just cries out loud, and we know the
big event is about to happen.  Pretty incredible for such young pup.
He's also been socializing with neighbors, and their kids.  Naturally, we're going to sign him up for puppy training and more socializing with
more people and other dogs.  Our vet also recommended Kennelwood as the best place to go in our area for training.
Speaking of which, the vet said that Toge is in great shape and it's fairly obvious that he was bred with the best of care.  Thanks for all your
hard work in helping to make our little guy such a 'good little guy'.
I'm only sending a few photos for now, just so you can see how Nikko and Toge are responding to one another.  We'll send more photos later.
Thanks so much, again for all you've done for us, and Toge.

Ron

Hi Barb,
Just wanted to give you an update on Maze. She is doing great and fitting nicely into the family. Maze was the easiest dog to housebreak and she has master the sitting and working on down, come and stay. She is a normal akita because the come command is optional if she has nothing else better to do. I could not have ask for a better puppy. Unfortunately we lost her playmate, the German Shepherd, last week to bloat, his spleen twisted also. This was a complete surprise to us and the vet because he was always a slow and picky eater. So we hope to find Maze a new playmate in the near future. Have a nice holiday.

Catria

Barbara,

He was surprisingly very good! He didn't even try to pee or poop in the car at all, we only stopped at a rest stop once and he peed and went right back in the car. He cried twice, but only for a few seconds. He passed out on the floor of the van after about an hour, and he slept the whole way home. Once we got home he was really tired, but drank a ton of water so we ended up taking him outside at about midnight. But he peed and then we played for about 10 mins and then we went in. When it was time for bed he cried for about 5 minutes, but then found his toy and played until he fell asleep. He didn't pee or poop during the night at all, he waited until we took him out at about 6:30am. So he's doing really well! He has yet to go to the bathroom in the house....but I'm sure it'll happen eventually lol. All he does all day is sleep or play with his toys, and when we take him out to pee he plays for a few minutes. He's so goofy, he loves sleeping with his head on his water bowl, so when he dozes off his head face slips in and he wakes up with his face dripping. But even if we move the bowl, he plops down next to it anyways! He even sat in it a few times lol. I took him to the vet today & there wont be any shots yet for I think 3 week since you just gave him some. But he was perfectly fine and his stool was clean. The vet just started him on the heartworm chewables.

Overall, Kuba's a very good dog. He's starting to get used to being here, and he's just so mellow and nice to be around :) How are the other puppies doing? I sent you a bunch of pics of Kuba, I even took one of him sleeping on his water bowl lol.

CJSAKITA’S
Mrs. Barbara Lawson

Dear Barb,

My husband, Chuck, and I cannot thank you enough for our beautiful little girl, Sweetie Bear.   Your family’s care and love of your puppies is evident in her every action – full of her wonderful Akita spirit but as sweet and loving as them come.

We would recommend you and your program without hesitation so please feel free to give my email address to anyone who might have questions or need reassurance.  Just have them put cjsakitas in the subject line so I can make sure I give it urgent attention.

Some facts about our experience with CJS AKITA’S:

Prior to purchase, Barb was extremely kind and informative.  If you look at her website, it is clear that she is in harmony not only with the dogs but every other animal on the ranch as well!

We were grateful that she wanted as much information about us to ensure her puppy would have a caring and loving home.

When we went to pick-up Sweetie at the airport, she was in one of three creates being brought into the baggage area.  When we peaked into the first create it wasn’t Sweetie but rather a very cute but very dirty, and smelly Pyrenees puppy cowering in the back in shredded, wet newspaper.  When the second create was brought to baggage, it was two chow puppies that were in shredded, wet newspaper plus, they were too big for the create.  When they brought the third create, Sweetie was happy and laughing and ready to greet us.  The create was packed with a very thick blanket and Barb had attached frozen cups of water to the create so Sweetie could get some refreshment during the long flight.  The create wasn’t too big nor too small – the perfect little den for our puppy.  As the other pups were clinging to the backs of their creates, fearful of anyone looking in, Sweetie was upfront and personal…smiling, ready to greet us – clean and looking (and smelling) wonderful.  Thanks Barb.  Plus, we were the only ones picking up a puppy with scissors to cut the airline security lock they put on the creates.  Good thing Barb had told us to take scissors as the airline baggage people didn’t have anything that would cut the airline security plastic lock. We actually had to cut the other creates open for those other people.  The new owners of the Pyrenees and the new owners of the Chow puppies, not discounting the love of their new little additions, were extremely impressed with the care Barb had gone to and frankly, they were jealous.

When we took Sweetie to our vet, both partners were extremely impressed with her … from ears to toes, weight, stock and temperament; a wonderfully healthy puppy.

Barb lives in Missouri and we live in California but the process was seamless… everything Barb did was done in the best interest of our puppy and we want to acknowledge her with our gratitude and by letting everyone know how many people have stopped to tell us what a beautiful, sweet, adorable puppy Sweetie Bear is!  We happen to agree 100%

So Barb, your family and ours will always be linked  through this wonderful little girl you brought into our lives.   To you, our many thanks.
